I am a veteran teacher with 34 years of teaching experience teaching subjects as diverse as English, speech, drama, social studies, and career education. During my tenure teaching in 3 high schools, 3 middle schools, and one community college, I have been honored with being a nominee for Oregon Teacher of the Year on five different occasions. In addition, in 2003, I was chosen Walmart Teacher of the Year for Grants Pass, Oregon.
A little over ten years ago, I became an avid consumer of free technology for educational purposes. My passion and my integration of technology became evident to my district administrators, and they named me Tech Coach for the district. As the technology integration specialist, I conducted numerous workshops and worked with teachers one-on-one to help them learn to use technology to not only engage students but also to assess them.
In June of this year, I retired from public school teaching but have not given up on my mission to help teachers become more proficient with technology so they can transform their classrooms into 21st century digital-based havens of learning and engagement.
